We celebrate Pronova 50 years
Since its founding in 1975, Pronova has grown from a small engineering firm on the outskirts of Halmstad into a leading player in packaging solutions, with its headquarters now located in the heart of what is today a thriving industrial area in Halmstad.
Milestones
- 1975 – Pronova AB is established as an engineering and development company focusing on specialized machinery.
- 1980 – The Joker® packaging system with linked bags is invented and patented, becoming the company's main business. The machines are developed, manufactured and sold by Pronova, while bags are sold by licensed companies in Sweden, Denmark, England and Finland.
- 1998 – The Sesam System, a development of the Joker System, is developed and patented. The technical solution enables several bags to be opened simultaneously for filling, with the bags fully opened during the process. A plastics factory is built in Halmstad, and Pronova begins its own production of bags for the Scandinavian market.
- 2011 – Joker® Line is launched, a new production method for linked bags that reduces packing waste and streamlines production. We can offer a wider range of materials and bag manufacture is now possible in various materials, provided one side is sealable.
- 2014 – A new printing hall is built, and the company invests in an eight-colour printing press.
- 2015 – Plastic production is certified for food safety according to ISO 22000.
- 2018 – A new bag converting line for in-house production of laminated bags is installed.
Collaboration in every step
Through the years, the market has grown via carefully selected collaborations with suppliers, distributors and bag manufacturers. Today, we provide complete and customized packaging solutions in cooperation with our distributors and licensees throughout Europe.
Our close collaboration with technically skilled distributors and their commitment has contributed to approximately 75% of our machine sales being exported.
Production of bags for our system takes place not only at our facility in Halmstad, but also in Germany, France and England.
